TOURMAC will develop the following actions:

Windmills - Azores

The involvement of local population in the project, as a way to determine the most suitable model of "Trekking Tourism", organizing forums and debates, campaigns of Environmental Education, educative excursions with different social groups, informative conferences and publications spreading the natural and cultural heritage existing in the Network of Trails.

The achievement of an inventory of the services and the cultural and environmental heritage of each path, creating thematic routes dealing with the history and customs of each trail, with services for trekkers.

The analysis and cataloguing of the paths, providing them with a system of signs, the official approval and the necessary elements of security, studying the island's potentialities with the assistance, technical work and legal advice required.

The creation of training plans authorized by the Governments or Federations in diverse areas, such as nature and tourist guides, experts of adventure sports, etc.

The promotion and commercialization of the TOURMAC regions' offer of trekking tourism, creating a common Internet dominion, in addition to the edition of the Official Topographical Guide of the Network of Trails and the publishing of multilingual magazines for their commercialization not only in fairs related to this sector, but also in other ambits.
