The white settlement of the town extends along the scenic bay. The mounts undulate smoothly, raising slowly until they almost reach the clouds. The green colour is always present, intermingled with the white hues of the hydrangeas. These are some of the charms of Faial , an island where the landscape seems to hold its visitors, only letting them to depart with nostalgia.

Faial is also the colouring of the yachts that rest at Horta during their Atlantic voyages, the naked landscape of the Capelinhos volcano, the circle of a deep crater covered with the endemic vegetation of the island. And, especially, the most dazzling and striking natural viewpoint to watch the near island of Pico and all the majesty of the high volcanic cone emerged from the bottom of the sea.
